Lindsey Waters, M.A., LPC
Therapist

Offers Services in Person in Boulder + Telehealth

Lindsey Waters is a Licensed Professional Counselor with specialized expertise in treating Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) as well as anxiety disorders. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Denver and has dedicated her clinical work to helping individuals navigate the complexities of OCD and anxiety with skill, compassion, and evidence-based care.

Lindsey’s therapeutic approach is rooted in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard treatment for OCD. She has experience delivering ERP to children, adolescents, and adults struggling with intrusive thoughts, compulsive behaviors, and related anxiety disorders. Her commitment to ERP is central to her practice and guides the structure, pacing, and individualization of each client's treatment plan.

In addition to ERP, Lindsey integrates complementary modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to address co-occurring challenges and support clients in developing long-term coping strategies. She also incorporates mindfulness and somatic techniques to help regulate the nervous system and reduce overall distress during and between sessions.

Lindsey brings a trauma-informed perspective to her work, recognizing how attachment patterns, family systems, and past experiences influence OCD symptoms and emotional wellbeing. Her practice is grounded in Humanistic Therapy, emphasizing authenticity, empowerment, and self-compassion. She strives to create a warm, nonjudgmental therapeutic space where clients feel safe to confront fears, break free from avoidance, and reclaim their lives.

Outside of her clinical work, Lindsey enjoys finding balance through both movement and rest. She spends her time mountain biking, backcountry skiing, and relaxing outdoors with her two beloved dogs.
