Therapist
Offers Services in Person in Fort Collins + Telehealth
Rochelle Lenox specializes in the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and anxiety-related disorders, as well as trauma and attachment concerns. She is passionate about helping clients better understand what is keeping them stuck, develop a different relationship with anxiety and uncertainty, and move toward the life they want to be living.
Rochelle has specialized training in evidence-based treatment for OCD and related anxiety disorders. She utilizes Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard treatment for OCD, to help clients gradually face feared situations, thoughts, sensations, and uncertainty while learning to resist the compulsions and avoidance patterns that keep OCD going. She also incorporates Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT), an evidence-based approach that helps clients recognize and disengage from the reasoning processes that can pull them into obsessive doubt.
Rochelle understands that OCD can show up in many different ways and often attaches itself to the things a person values most. Intrusive thoughts can feel frightening, confusing, or deeply inconsistent with who someone knows themselves to be. Rochelle provides a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where clients can talk openly about their experiences without fear of being misunderstood or judged. Her approach balances warmth and validation with the active, evidence-based work necessary to help clients stop organizing their lives around OCD.
In addition to her work with OCD and anxiety, Rochelle has a strong clinical interest in trauma and attachment. She utilizes Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and incorporates Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed principles when clinically appropriate. This allows her to thoughtfully address trauma and other underlying experiences while remaining intentional about differentiating trauma-related symptoms from OCD and avoiding therapeutic approaches that may inadvertently reinforce obsessive fears or compulsive patterns.
Rochelle brings a unique professional background spanning mental health, crisis response, and education. She has 15 years of experience working in schools as a teacher, high school counselor, and disabilities specialist, with the last several years focused more specifically on behavioral health and targeted therapeutic intervention. Her extensive experience in educational settings gives her a valuable understanding of how OCD, anxiety, and emotional difficulties can affect academic functioning, relationships, family dynamics, and everyday life.
She practices from a multicultural and trauma-informed perspective, recognizing that effective treatment must consider each client’s individual experiences, identities, relationships, values, and environment.
Rochelle values a therapeutic relationship that is warm, genuine, collaborative, and active. She helps clients develop greater insight into their patterns while also building practical skills to create meaningful change. Her goal is not simply to help clients feel less anxious, but to help them become more confident in their ability to tolerate uncertainty, respond differently to difficult thoughts and feelings, and participate more fully in the lives they want to lead.
Rochelle especially enjoys working with adolescents, young adults, and families, while welcoming clients across the lifespan.
Outside of work, Rochelle loves spending time with her husband and three daughters, reading, playing the piano, watching movies, and finding any excuse to be somewhere cozy with a warm drink.
